High-Performance EMC/EMI Filters up to 600A
The FN 3280 filter family from Schaffner is now also available for higher power applications thanks to its new frame sizes 300A, 400A and 600A. Complementing the existing series, the new filter models convince with their superior EMC performance, compact dimensions, and low leakage current.
By expanding its FN 3280 series, Schaffner has made it possible, for the first time, to use high-performance EMC/EMI filters in four-wire technology for higher-power applications. The new 300A, 400A and 600A models are particularly designed for use in large industrial machines and plants with numerous motor drives, long motor cables, and high interference levels. They can also be used in inverter and converter applications such as UPS, or in the area of renewable energy.
The high current versions of the FN 3280 are available in a compact package and with solid copper bus bar terminals, ideal for fast and easy wall or floor installation.

New Design Guide for Flexible Printed Circuits
This new brochure highlights the advanced manufacturing techniques used to create flexible printed circuits. Special processes include the ability to selectively plate a single circuit with two different finishes, contoured circuits with variable metal thickness, semi-additive and subtractive techniques to manufacture trace patterns, BGA pad arrays, and open window or cantilevered contact leads.
In addition, Tech-Etch offers surface mount technology (SMT) for component assembly on both prototypes and full production runs. SMT process can accommodate package sizes down to 0402 and .4mm pitch leaded packages. Polyimide or epoxy-glass stiffeners can be laminated in place to provide additional support and strain relief. Tech-Etch manufactures flex circuits using both adhesive-based and adhesive-less raw materials. Laser processing capability supports precision drilling of hole sizes down to .001" diameters for micro via and blind via multilayer circuits.

RF Filters Suit up to 6GHz Frequencies
Syfer Technology Ltd. is offering a range of SMD low-pass, band-pass, high-pass and band-stop filters for frequencies up to 6GHz. Designed to meet increased integration demands in the burgeoning RF and microwave sectors for wireless communications systems, these filters offer significant performance, space and cost advantages. They are also finding increasing application in the automotive and aerospace sectors.
Based on low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology, these complex passive RF and microwave components are manufactured as single chips. The technique is a three-dimensional development of the standard process for ceramic capacitors, retaining all the advantages of low cost, high reliability and good temperature performance.
A wide range of RoHS-compliant standard low-pass, band-pass, high-pass and band-stop filter designs are available in production volumes on 10- to 12-week delivery. Some custom designs are also available.

WATERFLUX Electromagnetic Water Meter
The new WATERFLUX electromagnetic water meter offered by KROHNE Messtechnik has all the advantages of mechanical water meters, but also features an elegant solution for traditionally problematic applications, such as water with suspended particles, bi-directional metering, as well as measuring flow in pipes with sizes of DN 50 — 300 and larger.
The WATERFLUX electromagnetic flowmeter was developed by KROHNE Messtechnik, which has been manufacturing electromagnetic flowmeters since 1962. An electromagnetic flowmeter has no moving parts and nothing that protrudes into the measuring tube. Water simply flows through a magnetic field thereby generating a voltage proportional to flow that is sensed by two side-mounted stainless steel electrodes. This signal is then fed to an electronic converter and finally displayed as volume and flow rate.

Praetorian III® EMI Filter Family
California Micro Devices' CM1693 family of advanced EMI filters is based upon the company's Praetorian III LC-based filtering technology. The CM1693 is the first device to meet exacting EMI filter and electrostatic discharge protection requirements while offering the low line capacitance necessary for the increasingly higher speed data interfaces to the high resolution cameras and displays used in today's most popular feature and smart phone models. The CM1693 also provides superior attenuation in the 700MHz band, making it the optimal solution for handset designs based upon 4G LTE based processors.
The CM1693 is a low pass EMI filter that features a unique coupled inductor design architecture based on CMD's Praetorian III technology. Praetorian III products offer higher performance than Praetorian I products, at lower cost equivalent to the recently introduced Praetorian II family of products. Praetorian III filter designs employ higher levels of inductance and lower levels of capacitance to deliver industry-leading EMI suppression, excellent signal integrity and robust ESD production in a single chip solution.

EMI Shielding for IP68 Ethernet Connectors
The new addition to Bulgin's waterproof Ethernet Buccaneer EMI-shielded backshell is a fully shielded system. The plastic panel connector, PX0833, does not have a natural bond or earth path to a metal chassis. The PX0833/E is one solution with a short earth lead but there are occasions where complete shielding is required. This new metal backshell, PX0888, fits around the connector to provide a complete 360 degree bond to the panel to stop any potential EMI/RFI.
Assembly is straightforward. The screening can fixes to the rear of the panel using the existing connector panel nut, and a cover provides continuity between the connector screen and the can. This maintains screening directly to panel to eliminate any potential EMC issues when using a plastic connector in electrically noisy environments.
