Two Antennas for RFI/EMI Field Testing

AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is offering two compact, lightweight antennas for RFI/EMI field testing. The new models &8212; AT4418 and AT4403 &8212; are designed to supply constant high intensity field necessary for testing within and beyond the confines of a shielded room. They can also be used to perform emissions measurements and to generate the response required for many common tests in their frequency ranges.
Model AT4418 covers the 1 &8212; 18GHz frequency range and can handle 300W CW input power. It provides a minimum gain of 7dB over isotropic. Model AT4403 spans the 200MHz &8212; 2GHz range and is intended for 1000W CW input power. It provides a minimum gain of 5dB isotropic.
Both antennas are extremely mobile, they mount easily on a tripod, and are built to stand up to the demands of outdoor use.

Custom Diameter EMI Contact Rings
Omega Shielding Products is offering a versatile series of 22 electrically conductive contact rings for broad-ranging microwave cavity, tuning and EMI shielding applications. The beryllium copper rings are manufactured from Omega's standard finger stock gasket styles. Once installed, the gaskets provide superior attenuation of unwanted microwave and RF interference for applications with round-shaped plug openings.
Custom sizing is available by specifying the application's inside or outside plug diameter. Rings are formed with curved contacts on either the outside or inside diameter for easy installation. The ring series is offered in a standard bright finish or with one of 10 surface finish plating options.

Self-Supporting ZEBRA® Sponge Connector

Fujipoly's self-supporting Sponge Connector incorporates an electrically conductive ZEBRA® connector with a non-conductive silicone sponge support on either one or two sides. The supporting material creates a larger base width and eliminates the need to install a connector holder on the circuit board.
The carbon-based ZEBRA connector can be specified with 140, 240 or 500 conductors per inch and is used as an interconnect between printed circuit boards and LCD panels in broad-ranging commercial, military and medical applications.
The physical characteristics of the sponge dramatically reduce bowing of the PCB due to the minimal force required to make full electrical contact.
The connector is manufactured in a variety of application-specific widths and provides a current-carrying capacity of .050A per .035" x .035" pad while exhibiting a contact resistance of less than 0.50ohms.

Thermoplastics with No Antenna Effect

Suited for heat sinks and thermal management solutions, CoolPoly® thermally conductive injection molding grade thermoplastics offer no amplification of electromagnetic or radio frequency interference and no magnetic coupling. E-series is electrically conductive and provides inherent EMI/RFI absorption, while D-series is electrically insulative and produces no signal interference. Features include thermal conductivity of 20w/mk, thermal diffusivity of 0.1cm²/sec, and density of 1.7g/cc.

Taiyo Yuden CKP2520 Devices
Taiyo Yuden (U.S.) Inc.'s new CKP2520 multilayer chip power inductors achieve better performance compared to the company's previous industry-leading CKP series parts. The -2R2 part, for example, offers DC resistance and rated current improvements of 35% and 44%, respectively. With an EIA 1008 case size footprint of 2.5 x 2.0mm and a maximum height of only 1.0mm, CKP2520 devices facilitate the design of thinner, higher-performance, multifunction cell phones, digital cameras and other battery-powered ultra-portable electronic equipment.
Tighter electromagnetic field control and a proprietary new internal-electrode printing process that doubled the thickness of the internal conductor resulted in dramatically lower DC resistance (RDC) and higher current ratings. New additions to the CKP2520 series, now under development, are expected to result in further performance gains in the 1008 and smaller case sizes.

Anderson Power Products® Device
Anderson Power Products' Multipurpose Powerpole Connector is designed with the same time-tested flat wiping technology as the company's standard Powerpoles. The Multipurpose Powerpole contact is a make-first/break-last connection when used in a multipole situation with Anderson's standard 15/45 Powerpoles. The dovetailed housing allows you to interlock multiple housings into vertical or horizontal connector banks specific to your individual project requirements.
This connector is rated to 600V continuous (AC/DC) and up to 45A (max amperage based on using 10AWG wire). The contact accommodates wire sizes from 10 to 14AWG (5.3 to 2.1 mm2) and is available in reeled or loose piece to accommodate production needs. The Multipurpose Powerpole uses Anderson's standard crimp tools and dies.

Synthesized Local Oscillators
AtlanTecRF has a new ALO series of synthesized local oscillator modules that combine small size (33 x 88 x 16mm) and light weight with a large range of output frequency. The modules are offered in frequency ranges with total coverage from 5 to 14.55GHz.
These new devices complement the company's phase-locked oscillators in the APL series that use coaxial resonators up to 3GHz and dielectric resonators (DRO) up to 14GHz. These require a crystal-controlled reference oscillator in the 25 to 300MHz range to be provided, either internally or externally, and as a result achieve very good phase noise. DRO-based oscillators are relatively narrow band in frequency due to the high Q of the DRO puck that has to be mechanically factory tuned and therefore has to be selected at the time of ordering, potentially lengthening the turnaround time.

FVDT LF to HF Filters
Premo EMC's EMI FVDT filters are intended for frequency investors destined to wind turbine generator. These filters present high extenuations in 150kHz up to 30MHz frequencies, according to EMC 2004/108/CE Directive and specific norm product EN61800-3:2004. The product range destined to wind turbine generator include three-phase filters which currently range from 180A up to 900A. Nominal tensions can be 520V AC or 720V AC according to investor requirement. The filters format is stand-alone, and they are connected by copper platens. Filters have been designed to work at nominal current with atmosphere temperatures up to 50ºC, and their climatic classification (HMF) guarantees the correct components functioning up to 100ºC in these conditions,
