AR Worldwide Redesigns Laser Probe

AR Worldwide RF/Microwave Instrumentation has redesigned one of its Starprobe™ laser-powered e-field probes to meet the new IEC 6GHz requirement. This new Starprobe, Model FL7006 (shown on page 1) replaces Model FL7004.

Like the Starprobe FL7030 (5kHz - 30MHz / 1.5 - 300V/m), the FL7006 is designed and manufactured with an internal microprocessor that enables it to "think" for itself and adapt to its environment. This provides optimal linearization, temperature compensation, control, and communications functions. And because it is laser-powered, users never need to recharge or replace batteries.

Noise reduction and temperature compensation allow the FL7006 probe to deliver accurate measurements down to 0.5 V/m without zero adjustment. Microprocessor-based linearization provides a 64dB dynamic range. When rotated about its magic angle mount, the probe provides isotropic response of +0.5dB to over 2GHz. The FL7006 offers the flattest frequency response of any e-field probe in its frequency range.

Low-Compression RF Shielding Gasket

Omega Shielding Products' 99-830-06-20 gasket is engineered to provide excellent RF attenuation for applications that require very low compression force throughout the deflection range of the part. By reducing or eliminating seam openings with an Omega beryllium copper gasket, the enclosure effectively works as one continuous EMI/RFI absorbing surface.

The clip-on design is perfect for mounting surfaces from 0.035 to 0.055 inches thick with a dynamic range of .10 inch. The most common application for this part is in enclosure doors and around cabinet flanges.

Omega's 99-830-06-20 beryllium copper shielding gaskets are in-stock with a bright surface finish.

Flex-Circuit Low Profile Ferrites

FerriShield has expanded its product line-up to include five new ultra-thin ferrites designed for specific use with thin flex-circuit cross-sections in widths up to 1.25 inches (31.8mm). 40GHz RF Switches Provide Versatile Options

Dow-Key Microwave Corp. now offers a complete line of 40GHz RF switches. Designed to operate with high repeatability for both military and ATE applications, the newly introduced family of products provides users with a wide selection of 40GHz RF switch options. The line includes SP6T multiposition coaxial switches, DPDT (transfer) coaxial switches, and SPDT coaxial switches.

Standard with 2.9mm RF connectors, all three switch offerings place an emphasis on superior reliability and phase and insertion loss repeatability. The SP6T multiposition RF switch has a switching time of 20ms (max) and is offered with a normally open actuator. It can be equipped with coils designed for 12, 15, 24, and 48V. The DPDT (transfer) coaxial switch also has a switching time of 20ms (max) and features a latching or failsafe actuator. The SPDT coaxial switches have a switching time of 15 ms(max) and are offered with a latching or failsafe actuator. All DPDT and SPDT versions are available with actuator coils designed for 12, 15, 24, and 28V.

Dow-Key administers all final testing using state-of-the-art equipment. Environmental test capabilities include temperature, thermal shock, acceleration, mechanical shock, thermal vacuum and both random and sine vibration.
