Shepherd Wins SBA Award

Donald “Shep” Shepherd, founder and president of AR Worldwide, has won the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2005 Exporter of the Year Award for Eastern Pennsylvania. He received the award at “SBA Day at Citizens Bank Ballpark” before a Philadelphia Phillies game on May 19.

For more than 35 years, Shepherd and AR Worldwide have played a major role in the success of the automotive, aerospace, telecom, and medical industries. The company’s client list includes industry giants such as Chrysler, Ford, Motorola, and General Electric. The U.S. military also uses AR Worldwide products for communications, electronic warfare and homeland security.

From a small engineering firm that began in Shep’s basement, AR has expanded to include 25 international organizations. His efforts in expanding international markets have resulted in increased sales and higher employment levels. Located in Souderton, PA, AR manufactures amplifiers, antennas and electronic test systems.
