General Dynamics to Acquire Spectrum Astro

General Dynamics has agreed to acquire Gilbert, Arizona-based Spectrum Astro, Inc., a privately held space systems integrator for the U.S. government.

Spectrum Astro’s capabilities include manufacturing and integration of spacecraft subsystem hardware, software and ground-support equipment. It has approximately 520 employees, and will become part of General Dynamics C4 Systems, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.

General Dynamics C4 Systems’ employees have been contributing to the U.S. space program since the mid-1950s, supporting missions from Apollo and Voyager to the Hubble Space Telescope, the International Space Station and the Mars Exploration Rovers.
