Modula EMC Testing System
Schaffner EMC Inc.s new Modula system for conducted
EMC immunity testing (pictured on page 1) combines ease of
use and functionality with a high degree of flexibility. The
system meets all IEC/EN testing standards while being cost-effective.
This enables users to purchase only the modules needed, and
allows for future expansion and more testing capability.
The Modulas standard functions include generating classic
interference pulses, such as burst and surge, and power quality
simulations. A freely available command structure and communications
protocol allows upgrades at minimal expense.
The system has a wireless remote control capability and a
cable-free optical control link to operate system components
from a laboratory desk via a handheld remote. It is compact,
lightweight, and portable with a built-in carry handle, and
produces test reports online in an editable form.
Industrial quality IEC-compatible connectors are used on the
equipment and EUT side to meet all laboratory and manufacturing
safety requirements.
Pricing starts at $12,500. Contact MaryJane Salvador, Schaffner

Electrically Conductive Epoxy Films
and Preforms
New Master Bond FL901S silver conductive epoxy adhesive film
and preform system offers enhanced productivity, simplified
handling, and reduced wastage compared to other assembly methods.
The silver conductive formulation features remarkably high
resistance to vibration and shock as well as geometric and
bulk stability under thermal cycling. Weight loss at 600EF
measures less than 0.7%. The low level of total ionic impurities
of less than 50ppm makes this product a preferred choice for
even the most demanding electronic assembly applications.
FL901S is available in thicknesses of 2 to 8 mils and up to
16 inches square. Preforms can be laser or die cut to the
configuration of any part.
