Fast-Switching Microwave Signal Generator

The MG37020A microwave signal generator from Anritsu uses an advanced VCO to achieve frequency switching speed of 100µsec per point. This switching speed, makes the MG37020A ideal for use in areas such as automated test systems, defense signal simulation and manufacturing ATE where minimum test time and maximum throughput is critical.

The VCO-based architecture uses advanced RF hardware, enhanced computing, and digital interfaces that minimize command and trigger delays. The MG37020A has switching speed an order of magnitude faster than comparable YIG-based signal generators while maintaining low phase noise of typically -101dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset at 10GHz.

The instrument covers a frequency range of 10MHz to 20GHz in 0.001Hz steps. It features +23dBm high output at 20GHz, and high-performance pulse modulation to conduct highly-accurate signal simulation of pulsed signals.

Extended-Life, Large Enclosure EMI Gasket

Omega Shielding Products’ extreme-duty 99-840 finger stock is an EMI shielding gasket engineered for large enclosures that commonly have significant gap fluctuations between mating surfaces.

This low compression force gasket provides a dynamic deflection range of .25" (6,4mm) and easily installs on most enclosure panels with a clip-on lance.

An optional “C” style retaining lance is also available to provide additional grip for applications that experience repeated compressions or when assurance against omni-directional slippage is desired. Omega’s shielding gasket is in stock with a bright finish and can also be ordered with one of 10 surface finish and plating options.

EMI Suppressors Fit in Small Footprints

Murata’s new family of BLM02 signal line EMI suppressors are only 0.4 x 0.2 x 0.2mm. These devices provide EMI suppression and prevention of abnormal oscillation in mobile phone power amplifier modules and other space-limited designs.

The small chip ferrite beads function almost like resistors at noise frequencies. They greatly reduce the danger of resonance and leave signal resonance and signal waveforms undistorted. The new beads are especially useful when no stable ground-line is available.

Generating impedance from relatively low frequencies, BLM02 series EMI suppressors are effective in noise suppression over a wide frequency range.

Murata offers nominal values of 10, 70 and 120ohm, with rated currents of 500, 250 and 200mA respectively. Maximum DC resistance values are 0.1, 0.5 and 0.8ohm and the operating temperature range is -55 up to +125C.

Simulator Has 200V to 30 kV Pulses

Teseq has a handheld ESD simulator capable of generating pulses from 200V to 30kV, in both air and contact discharge operation modes.

The NSG 437 simulator has test parameter settings such as polarity selection, counter functions and breakdown detection, available up to the maximum discharge voltage.

To meet ESD standards the unit has been designed to meet the holding time of at least five seconds required by the standards, to ensure reproducibility of a test
