Electrochem Starts New Raynham Facility

Electrochem Commercial Power broke ground in July for its new 82,000 square-foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the Raynham Woods Commerce Center in Raynham, Massachusetts. The new facility will house approximately 200 jobs and enable Electrochem to retain its employees while expanding into an area with a high concentration of battery and engineering expertise.

The company, a subsidiary of Greatbatch Ltd., is a leading manufacturer of high-performance lithium cells for extreme environments.

Susan Bratton, senior vice president of Electrochem Commercial Power, said, “Both an increasing worldwide demand for these products and our concentrated effort on expanding our market presence have brought us to the happy occasion today of breaking ground on a much larger, state-of-the-art facility.”

The new building boasts energy and manufacturing efficient equipment and is a “green” facility. Completion is planned for June 2008.
