LTC Releases Largest Cells, Appoints Brandt

Lithium Technology Corp. of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, has a new product line of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells, the largest of their kind in the world. These advanced cells use LiFePO4 licensed technology developed by Prof. John Goodenough with the University of Texas and supplied by Phostech. This chemistry, coupled with the company’s end-to-end manufacturing processes and proprietary design, packaging and assembly techniques, allows LTC to provide high performance cells unmatched by any other product.

In other news, battery industry expert Dr. Klaus Brandt has been appointed CEO of Lithium Technology Corp. effective May 18, 2007.

Previously, Brandt served as the executive vice president of LTC and managing director of its subsidiary, GAIA Akkumulatorewerke. Prior to joining LTC in 2005, Brandt held senior positions with Duracell and VARTA. He co-founded and headed Moli Energy of Canada and also served as the managing director and as a member of the executive board for Ionity AG of Germany.

Dr. Brandt holds a doctorate of natural science from the Technical University of Munich and a masters degree in physics from the University of Goettingen. He resides in Dresden with his wife and daughter.
