East Penn Introduces New Deka EN Line

East Penn of Lyon Station, Pennsylvania, has developed an import and domestic battery line featuring new “exact fit” EN – European Norm (formerly known as DIN – Deutsche Industrie Normen) sizes. EN is a standard used primarily by European manufacturers such as Audi, Mercedes, BMW, VW and Volvo. This EN line currently consists of ten maintenance-free automotive flooded-electrolyte batteries covering BCI Group sizes 40R, 47, 48, 49, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94R, and 97R. The EN line also includes two automotive Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) non-spillable batteries for BCI Group Sizes 48 and 49.

The company has designed these batteries to meet the specialized needs required by many applications. Automotive manufacturers are developing increasingly strict standards for replacement batteries. To cater to these OE requirements, East Penn’s new EN line is designed to match critical criteria such as cold cranking amp and reserve capacity ratings, exact dimension configurations, cover designs, case hold-down requirements and proper venting.
