Panasonic Launches New Battery in China
In an effort to boost its market share of dry
battery sales to 10% of the Chinese market, Panasonic
of Beijing introduced a new longer lasting Oxyride
battery, reports The China Daily. Mitsuru
Ohara, manager of Panasonic’s battery sales
division in China, said the new batteries last
50-100% longer than standard alkaline.
Current demand for dry batteries in China is about
7.5 billion units a year. Panasonic has five battery
manufacturing facilities in China.
